DO YOU NEED ASSISTANCE?

An emergency centre, together with police, fire brigade and rescue teams will be located at the parking lot behind the Parliament Building. Police cars, ambulances and fire engines will be at this location. For everybody’s safety and assistance, emergency teams will be patrolling the festival area on foot throughout Reykjavík Culture Night. In case of emergency call 112

CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS

Lost children will be taken to the parking lot behind the Parliament Building. In case of an emergency, make sure your children have or know their guardian’s phone number. The Reykjavik City and Police refuge will also be open during Reykjavik Culture Night. For information, call 112.

ANIMAL PROTECTION

Most animals are extremely sensitive during firework shows. For your animal’s comfort, keep your animal safe at home during Reykjavík Culture Night firework show. For calming medication for your animal, contact the Animal Hospital, tel: +354 540-9900. For emergency outside opening hours, tel: +354-860-2211.

 

RESTRICTION ON SHIPPING

During Culture Night the area within the red lines around Faxagarður (see map below) will be closed to all boats and ships during the fireworks.
The closure will be from 10:50pm to 11:20pm, five minutes after the fireworks are over. During this time, a surveillance boat from the Icelandic Coast Guard and ICE-SAR (Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue) will patrol the area with open channels 16 and 12. The Icelandic Coast Guard’s control mission will also send notification regularly to boats and ships over VHF. Map
